AI2440: 4-20mA Analog Input Module

The AI2440 Analog Input module offers four channels of 4-20mA analog inputs together with four channels of digital input. Ideal for use with differential pressure, temperature and humidity sensors, the analog inputs can be used with loop powered sensors or with sensors that require a 24Vdc supply. Field wiring from either type of sensor can be connected directly to the input terminals without the need for any additional terminals. The 24V energisation supply available at each of the 4-20mA inputs has built-in current limiting allowing them to survive accidental short circuits without needing to replace any fuses. The digital input channels have built-in energisation allowing them to be used with volt-free contacts and are ideal for use with door switches.

The AI2440 has dual RS485 busses allowing two PCs to simultaneously connect to the network of modules. When used with appropriate software such as enVigil-FMS, dual-redundant systems can be implemented to maximise data availability.

MX6000 Multi-Function Controller

The MX6000 provides unparalleled flexibility and functionality in a single compact module. By simply connecting a single Ethernet cable from the host PC and supplying 24Vdc power, this powerful module provides all the functionality to drive ‘swappable’ particle counters, alarm message displays, environmental inputs, Air Sampler controllers, a beacon stack and watchdog subsystems simultaneously. A single physical Ethernet port expands into six physical RS485 serial buses. The RS485 buses appear within the host PC as virtualised COM ports and behave exactly like local COM ports on the PC. Perfectly matched to enVigil FMS and enVigil PnP, this single module combines the functionality of an Ethernet Serial Device Server, multiple particle counter controllers and an alarm beacon interface. The MX6000 supports up to six particle counters directly and offers a pass-through mode to additional MX6000 modules that act as expanders each supporting up to six particle counters. The pass-through mode automatically recognises serial protocol requests for particle counters beyond its local capability and transparently redirects them via Ethernet to the appropriate MX6000 module. AI2800: 8 channel 4-20mA Analog Input Module

The AI2800 Analog Input module offers eight channels of 4-20mA analog inputs. Ideal for use with differential pressure, temperature and humidity sensors, the analog inputs can be used with loop powered sensors or with sensors that require a 24Vdc supply. Field wiring from either type of sensor can be connected directly to the input connectors without the need for any additional DIN rail terminals. The 24V energisation supply available at each of the 4-20mA inputs has built-in current limiting allowing them to survive accidental short circuits without needing to replace any fuses.

The AI2800 has dual RS485 busses allowing two PCs to simultaneously connect to the network of modules. When used with appropriate software such as enVigil-FMS, fault tolerant systems can be implemented to maximise data availability. Alternatively, the second bus can be used as a host RS485 bus extender allowing more flexible network topologies to be deployed.

CC2044: Relay Output Module

The CC2044 Relay Output module offers four channels of normally open relay contacts, making it ideal for use with contactors and solenoid valves. Field wiring is simplified through the provision of 24VDC energisation and ground connections on each output channel, in addition to the normally open relay contacts themselves. The module also provides four channels of digital input with built-in energisation for volt-free contacts, ideal for use with door switches or counter start/stop switches. CC9058: Counter Controller

The CC9058 Counter Controller Module is designed to permit gassing operations to take place within an isolator without the risk of damaging a particle counter’s sensitive optical system. The CC9058 acts as an interface module that coordinates a series of valves to control the air path during normal operation and during the gassing process used to decontaminate the isolator.

A motorized stainless-steel diverter valve in the particle sampling path is used to direct the flow of H2O2 gas (HPV) away from the particle counter and back to the return plenum of the isolator. The CC9058 coordinates the valve position/interlocks and performs address mapping for the particle counter. It also offers a simple electrical interface to the isolator control system.

The particle counter itself does not require to be programmed with a unique address when being swapped, as the address is actually provided by the CC9058 controller that can be located within the isolator or plant room.

The CC9058 offers control via digital inputs or Modbus registers to implement ‘Run Request’ and ‘Gas Request’ to the system. Digital outputs and associated Modbus registers offer corresponding ‘ClearToRun’ and ‘ClearToGas’ signals. A Modbus state register includes:

  • Off
  • Valves in transit (between running and gassing)
  • Running
  • Gassing
  • Fault

Digital outputs are available to drive a pump or solenoid valve to control the vacuum supply to the particle counter, along with red and green lamps to indicate normal operation or alarm (out of compliance) operation.

When not part of an isolator gassing system, the valve is simply omitted allowing the CC9058 to act as an address mapper and vacuum controller.

When used in a gassing isolator, a pair of CC9058 modules can be used to simplify the wiring between the plant room and isolator. One CC9058 is located in the plant room close to the vacuum pump and defines the address of the particle counter which is located in the isolator. It performs the address mapping and communicates with a second CC9058 located within the isolator. The second CC9058 drives all the valves and can interface to the isolator PLC via digital inputs and outputs. The pair of CC9058 modules communicate with each other via single CAT5 cable between the plant room and isolator in the clean room.

PT2600: 6 channel PRT Input Module

The PT2600 PRT input module offers six channels of PRT inputs suitable for use with 2, 3 or 4 wire probes of type Pt100. PRT (platinum resistance thermometers) are also known as RTD (resistance temperature devices) and offer high accuracy and repeatability over a wide temperature range. Field wiring from the probe can be connected directly to the inputs without the need for any additional terminals. The inputs have built-in protection to 30Vdc and can survive accidental short circuits. Conversion is carried out according to IEC751 (α=0.00385) or JIS C1604 (α=0.003916) and results can be returned in degrees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit.

The PT2600 has dual RS485 busses allowing two PCs to simultaneously connect to the network of modules. When used with appropriate software such as enVigil-FMS, dual-redundant systems can be implemented to maximise data availability.
