Quality Test Engineer

We are recruiting a Quality Test Engineer to join our well-established engineering company.

The ideal candidate will be professional, highly organized and able to work under pressure. Working alongside the Quality, Production and Development teams, this role is based at our head office in Finchampstead.

The successful candidate will be confident to work with existing team members to establish an effective company test department and the associated testing regimes. Working within a technical environment to support our growing need for robust testing protocol. The company’s products are used for both for environmental monitoring systems for pharmaceutical, NHS and life sciences customers and for general engineering and military applications.

Roles & Responsibilities

Role includes, but is not limited to, the following activities relating to the company’s hardware and software products: -

  • Assistance in the establishment of an effective company test department and testing regimes.
  • Execution of testing protocols on company manufactured hardware modules to ensure production quality.
  • Execution of testing protocols on company manufactured software modules to ensure production quality.
  • Execution of factory acceptance tests on company-built panels which incorporate both company products and bought in products to ensure production quality and working sub-systems.
  • Execution of factory acceptance tests on configured software applications which incorporate both company products and bought in products to ensure configured systems are ready for deployment.
  • Assisting development engineers with test protocol documentation (including drawings).
  • Duties will be carried out at ASL/Pharmagraph offices in Finchampstead, Berkshire.

Skills

  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Drawing packages such as AutoCAD / TurboCAD, Microsoft Office programs (e.g. Excel, Word, Access & Outlook).
  • Ability to use hand tools and basic test equipment.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Professional manner when dealing with both internal and external customers.
  • Good communication skills.

Education / Experience

  • Electrical / Electronic Engineering HND/HNC and / or 2 years proven experience in a Test Department role.

  • Salary in the range of £25,000 - £40,000 dependent on experience
