Electronics and Embedded Systems Engineer

Acquisitions Systems Ltd/Pharmagraph is looking for an Electronics and Embedded Systems Engineer to join our well-established and growing engineering company.

The role is based in Finchampstead and reports to the Technical Director. The company’s products are used in monitoring and control systems for pharmaceutical, NHS and life sciences customers, as well as for general engineering and military applications.

ASL is an engineering focussed company that is agile to market needs to ensure we provide software and products that assist our customers in achieving regulatory compliance and are easy to use. A key strength remains in our ability to provide a turnkey project from design, build, installation and qualification through to system lifetime support and calibration which is only possible with our expert teams. This is an exciting opportunity to join that team and support the development of electronics and embedded software for new and existing products.

Roles & Responsibilities

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following activities relating to ASL/ Pharmagraph environmental monitoring systems:

  • Hardware design of new products.
  • Software design and implementation.
  • Firmware design and implementation.
  • Liaising with external companies for services relating to new product development.
  • Production of documentation required for handing product over to production.
  • Project management of NPI and Product Update projects
  • Duties will be carried out both at ASL offices and customer sites as required.
  • Any additional tasks that may arise during normal day to day duties, in accordance with company and customer policies and company contractual obligations and/or that are required to fulfil business needs.

Additional Duties

  • Provide product training and other assistance for other engineers and technicians.
  • Assist sales with technical aspects of bids for engineering systems.

Skills/Experience/Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronics or General Engineering, MEng preferrable but not essential
  • Analog circuit design (AC and DC)
  • Digital circuit design
  • PC Software (C++)
  • Firmware for embedded micro controllers
  • PLC coding (Ladder)
  • Ability to use standard electronic test equipment (Oscilloscope, multimeter, frequency generator, calibrators etc.)
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Good communication skills
  • High level of accuracy
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills.

Working arrangement

  • Working hours flexible with core hours required, working week considered 37.5hrs Mon-Fri, excluding Bank Holidays.
  • Early finish on a Friday.
  • Duties will be carried out at ASL/Pharmagraph offices in Finchampstead, Berkshire.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,000 to £55,000 per annum dependent on your suitability and experience.
