Product Test Engineer

Acquisitions Systems Ltd/Pharmagraph is looking for a Product Test Engineer to join our well-established and growing engineering company.

The role is based in Finchampstead and reports to the Technical Director. The company’s products are used in monitoring and control systems for pharmaceutical, NHS and life sciences customers, as well as for general engineering and military applications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, executing, and reviewing testing that helps ensure the quality and functionality of a product. Working with software and hardware developers to enhance test methods and strategies ensuring they are effective and that product requirements are met.

Roles & Responsibilities

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following activities relating to the company’s hardware and software products:

  • Execution of testing protocols and factory acceptance tests on company manufactured hardware modules and bought in products to prove functionality, performance and durability.
  • Execution of testing protocols and factory acceptance tests on company manufactured software and bought in products to prove functionality, performance and durability.
  • Perform Conduct Testing on hardware and software products to help minimise issues before products are released.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Develop and maintain in house test systems ensuring latest software revisions and hardware firmware revisions are actively on test.
  • Develop and execute test strategy, regimes and plans alongside our design and software engineers, utilising new and standard test methods to satisfy project requirements.
  • Instruction and supervision of Test Technicians during test setup and operation.
  • Carry out additional testing activities during product lifecycle.
  • Review and sign-off test installations championing best practices & safety.
  • Carry out data analysis and draw conclusions from test data to produce test reports.
  • Identify areas of opportunities for improvement in functional test areas.
  • Participate in activities to address organisational initiatives and engineering issues.
  • Help to reproduce issues witnessed with company products and design test systems to help solve the issue and aid repeat testing.
  • Research new technologies and produce assessment reports or setup guides.
  • Assist with product training and help to develop associated training packs.
  • Assist internal IT systems testing when required.
  • Perform software configuration checks of system projects prior to formal acceptance testing.
  • Any additional tasks that may arise during normal day to day duties, in accordance with company and customer policies and company contractual obligations and/or that are required to fulfil business needs.
  • Duties will be carried out at ASL/Pharmagraph offices in Finchampstead, Berkshire.

Key Skills/ Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Experience with all enVigil Software packages.
  • Experience with Acquisition Systems hardware devices.
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office programs (e.g. Excel, Word, Access & Outlook).
  • Ability to take on a hands-on approach in test setup and instrumentation/data acquisition.
  • Strong analytical and judgment skills including the ability to troubleshoot, identify patterns and trends and advise on recommended solutions.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge, reasoning, and problem-solving skills in engineering.
  • A flexible approach to work, with the desire to thrive in a dynamic and fast-moving environment with an ability to respond quickly to changes in project priorities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage own time and priorities.
  • Professional manner when dealing with both internal and external customers.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams within the organisation.

Working arrangement

  • Working hours flexible with core hours required, working week considered 37.5hrs Mon-Fri, excluding Bank Holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £50,000 per annum dependent on skills and experience.
